Event Description
Thinking about loading your own ammunition? This session covers the basics for anyone who’s curious about reloading and wants to start safely.
Our experienced club members will take you through the whole process, from a fired case to a finished round:
- Safety first: How to set up a safe reloading space, handle and store powder and primers, and why you should always follow published load data.
- Equipment: A look at the core gear: presses, dies, scales, powder measures and case prep tools. We’ll cover what you need to get started and what can wait.
- Case preparation: Inspecting, cleaning, resizing, trimming and priming brass.
- Powder and projectiles: Choosing powders and bullets, charging cases and seating projectiles.
- Load data and record keeping: How to read reloading manuals, start low and work up carefully, and keep good notes.
- Why reload? The benefits, including consistency, accuracy, tailoring loads to your rifle, and cost savings over time.
You’ll see live demonstrations and have plenty of time to ask questions. No experience is needed, and you don’t need any equipment to attend.
This session is an introduction only. Always follow published load data and manufacturers’ guidelines.
